USA Soccer Halts #1 Spain’s 35-Match Undefeated Streak

USA scores against SpainCongratulations to the United States’ Soccer Team in defeating FIFA’s number-one ranked team, Spain, 2-0 in the semi-finals of the FIFA Confederations Cup. The USA team is the talk of the soccer world as they put an end to Spain’s undefeated streak of 35 consecutive matches. Spain was 33-0-2 during the streak that dated back to November 2006. The United States is advancing their first final in any international FIFA-sanctioned event since the U.S. starting participating in 1916. They will play the winner of the other semi-final match between Brazil and the host country, South Africa.

Go USA!

Editorial Note: Don’t plan on seeing many more stories about soccer in this blog because, frankly, it bores the hell out of me. But, this was such a monumental win for our boys that I couldn’t pass up writing a few lines about it.
